STUDENT-RUN MEMORY FOAM FACTORY® RECEIVES PRESTIGIOUS AWARDS
Clifton, NJ: Brian Bushell, President of the Memory Foam Factory®, was awarded the Student Entrepreneur of the year Award at Syracuse University's Annual Entrepreneurship and Emerging Enterprises Banquet in 2003. More notably, the Memory Foam Factory was awarded the New York State Collegiate Entrepreneur Award. It also went on to win the Overall East Coast Regional Award as it moves closer to winning the Overall North American Award, which is part of the Global Student Entrepreneur Competition.
The regional awards and the Global Student Entrepreneur™ Awards are recognition of exceptional entrepreneurial skill and creativity among undergraduate students enrolled in colleges, universities, or other post-secondary institutions. The awards were begun as the Missouri Collegiate Entrepreneur™ Awards in 1988 by Saint Louis University's Entrepreneurship Center. The distinguished panel of judges considered a variety of aspects during review including entrepreneurial spirit, obstacles overcome, success of business, concern for quality and customer service, and estimated potential for future success.
The Memory Foam Factory® was created by Syracuse University student Brian Bushell with development assistance from student Steven Darling. After several years of sleeping on uncomfortable mattresses in their dorms and apartments the Memory Foam Factory® was born. It has partnered with a leading foam manufacturer who has been serving the industry since 1962. As a result of this relationship they were able to provide consumers with the highest quality, pressure relieving memory foam mattress toppers and contour pillows at factory direct prices.
Darling and Bushell have now expanded their product line to include Canine Comfort products, as well as Saddle Pads for horses. Due to the rapid success of their venture, Bushell and Darling have found the need to hire qualified managers to oversee their Information Technology as well as Graphic Design departments. "We know how creative and motivated students at Syracuse can be, so naturally they were a perfect fit. We are very proud of the company's overall performance to date, and we look forward to an even brighter future."
